Assembly of Lada 4x4 may start in Germany
The invisible struggle of «Lada» with the new environmental requirements in the EU continues.The paradox lies in the fact that the popularity of domestic SUVs is so great that private contractors are ready to independently deal with the issue of adapting Russian cars to the European Union's economy standards.
Recall that officially «AvtoVAZ» stops the sale of its products in the EU. The fact is that after the entry into force of tougher environmental standards, cars manufactured by the Volga Automobile Plant turn out to be «outlaws». It is unprofitable for VAZ to modify its cars specifically for Europe, since then their main advantage, the price, is completely leveled. In turn, it is not profitable for EU residents to purchase a car in the current modification due to the increased tax rate on such vehicles.
As for the fate of Lada 4x4, it has a large army of fans in many European countries. At the moment, an initiative group has gathered, which plans to create a Russian-German joint venture based on the private company Partisan Motors, which will be engaged in small-scale production of Niva with various body options. In order to improve the integration of the assembled machines into the EU conditions, a decision was made to equip the novelty with both Russian components and assemblies, as well as imported components.
