Lada Vesta New Generation: top multimedia and LED headlights
The Izhevsk Automobile Plant in Russia started production of the Lada Vesta New Generation. How is the new generation different from the many and how big are the changes?
For the first time Lada Vesta saw the light of day in autumn 2015. It's time to modernize and «modernize» the VAZ bestseller: for the next generation, they updated multimedia and disc design, integrated «X-elements» into the head optics. At the same time, the body, platform and power units remained unchanged.Vesta NG is already available in three body types: sedan, station wagon and SW Cross. It is planned that a loaded Lada Vesta Sport will also appear in the future.
Aggressive look and X-concept
Vesta NG has been «lengthened» to 4440 mm: additional centimeters have gone to the updated bumpers, which now display more volume and aggressiveness. On the trunk lid, you can see new stamps that make the car longer.
In profile, this is still the same familiar Vesta, but from the front angle it looks more daring and receptive. The head optics acquired chrome-plated decorations of the branded «X-face». For the «base» halogen headlights with diode running lights are provided, for more advanced versions - fully LED optics. The same is true with the rear lights. In the replacement lamps, conventional incandescent lamps remained only for turn signals, the rest of the lights are now LED.
The design of the grille varies depending on the version of the car. So, in standard modifications of its pollution there are two chrome moldings. For Cross, a large-mesh pattern of a false radiator grille has been developed, emphasizing the «off-road» model. Plus, the LADA logo has increased.
To give the appearance of «sportiness», the designers of «Lada» connected the exhaust pipe with two decorative pipes. For the same reason, the design of the 16- and 17-inch wheels uses black lacquer and wide sanding.
Due to the modified geometry, the exhaust is completely hidden behind the bumper. If you snap off the right bell, under it you can see the towing eye.
For all body options, an antenna in the form of a «shark fin» is installed. In addition, new corporate colors appeared: «Damask steel» (steel, silver) for the usual «Vesta» and «Garfield» (red) for the Cross version.
Multimedia like Tesla
The first thing we see in the cabin is how seriously the front panel has changed. At the central level, a new reinforced system flaunts, a feature of which is a touchscreen with a vertical orientation. Similar solutions are used on the latest Tesla and Volvo models. An important caveat: such multimedia is available for top trim levels, simpler versions are equipped with the familiar Lada Enjoy Pro with a horizontal display orientation.
The instrument panel of Vesta NG has an informative design: between the tachometer and the speedometer there is a compact display of the on-board computer, which displays maximum information. A fully digital instrument cluster is optional.
In general, interior finishing materials have become better. The top of the dashboard and door armrests are now soft and pleasant to the touch. New design and materials are also used for door upholstery. In addition, the front and rear doors have got pockets and speakers - wide and high-frequency.
For front passengers, power windows are automatically connected. In the Luxe package, a new LED dome light is installed, which is combined with a case for glasses.
New opportunities for dynamics and safety
Both bumpers now attract attention with sensors - they are used for parking systems and monitoring blind spots when driving.
For the cross-version 1.8 with a manual transmission of the Lada Ride Select driving modes - it regulates the ESC and the motor, taking into account the road surface.
You can now control the on-board computer using the steering wheel, and the embossed buttons work in the form of joysticks. To the left of the steering wheel, the power of perception of the parking sensors was installed.
