Skoda introduced the «hot» Octavia
The novelty is made in the traditional design direction for the current lineup, which in the RS versions is made in a more aggressive style.
In light of the cancellation of the Geneva Motor Show, which will not be open due to the coronavirus epidemic, the Czech automaker Skoda has unilaterally introduced the next generation of the «charged» Octavia RS, in liftback and station wagon bodies. For the first time in its history, the model was equipped with a hybrid power plant, and the car in this version received the designation vRS iV.
The novelty is made in the traditional design direction for the current lineup, which in the RS versions is made in a more aggressive style. The exterior received large 19-inch alloy wheels, a massive black grille, LED optics, a forked racing exhaust, a spoiler, a diffuser and a sports body kit. The interior features new power seats, a racing steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment display and aluminum decorative trims. As for the optional equipment, it is represented by a rear-view camera, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, and keyless entry.
As for the power units, first of all it is worth mentioning the debut hybrid - it is built on the basis of a gasoline turbocharged engine with a displacement of 1.4 liters and an auxiliary electric motor. Their total return will be 245 horsepower, while acceleration from zero to «hundreds» will take only 7.3 seconds. On electric power alone, the car will be able to travel a distance of up to 60 kilometers. The line of conventional «RS» will be represented by a 2-liter 245-horsepower turbo engine and a diesel two-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 200 «horses».
