Maybach built a luxury 2-seater SUV
The division of Mercedes-Maybach presented an unexpected project - a real luxury SUV. More precisely, this is a «double electric off-road coupe». The car is called «Project Maybach».
This is a kind of conceptualization of the future of off-road car travel. The design team involved in the project was given absolute freedom. The work was led by automotive designer Gorden Wagener and famous fashion designer Virgil Abloh. Unfortunately, Abloh passed away a few days before the premiere of the machine.Project Maybach, despite its «two-seat», has an impressive overall dimensions. From the «nose» to the «tail» - almost six meters. More than a third of the length falls on the hood. The roof has a sloping line, which gives the appearance of an SUV the features of a classic coupe. Along the perimeter is not just a protective «suit» made of plastic, but a real tubular metal frame.
It is difficult to immediately calculate the number of LED elements in the exterior. In addition to the main optics, there are also spotlights on the roof and front bumper. Even the edge of the hood glows. Inside, everything is done minimalistically, with retro notes. The chairs are unusually made - they have rollers installed in them, replacing the traditional upholstery. Working on the interior, the designers were inspired by the desert.
There is no information about the power plant of the concept. Perhaps he is generally unable to move under his own power. Project Maybach will be on display at the Rubell Museum in Miami (USA).
