That is exactly what they did with this particular instance. Once it was the most common and very pleasant-looking ZAZ-968M, but then it fell into the hands of an off-road ride lover who decided to make a few modifications.



First of all, wide off-road wheels with developed lugs were added. To do this, I even had to cut the wheel arches, because the suspension was not lifted, leaving it almost standard.

Other purely off-road attributes were added: a steel front bumper, underbody protection, additional roof light and soft wheel arch extensions.



It is clear that all this added cross-country ability to the «Zaporozhets», only the drive still remained only on the rear wheels. And the ground clearance is not that great, so there will be problems when driving on a deep rut or while overcoming sharp peaks.



The engine most likely also remained standard. This means that a 4-cylinder air-cooled MeMZ-968 engine with a capacity of 41-55 horsepower is installed in the rear, depending on the version.
