The departure of the German driver became the catalyst for a series of transitions: it was immediately announced that Carlos Sainz would be replaced by Renault driver Daniel Riccardo at McLaren next season - the parties signed a multi-year contract. Thus, the composition of McLaren for 2021 is also formed: in the British stable, the Australian will become a partner of Lando Norris.

Where Sebastian Vettel will continue his career is not yet known: Auto Bild magazine claims that the German champion rejected McLaren's offer because he is not ready to wait three years to enter the fight for the title. The publication believes that Vettel went for broke and will only agree to a transition to Mercedes or end his career if it is not possible to agree with the hegemon of recent years.
