Toyota Altezza: powered by Honda

In drifting, the use of components and assemblies from other automakers in sports cars is in the order of things, which is why we see Zhiguli with a Toyota engine, BMW with a General Motors engine.
But very rarely under the hood of Toyota you can find not just another power unit, but an engine from a Japanese competitor in the person of Honda. All the more interesting is the project of Magomed Omarov, who competes in the RDS GP on the iconic Toyota Altezza for drifting, but equipped with a Honda K24 engine. As the pilot himself explained, it was fundamental for him to use a nominal 4-cylinder engine - compact, lightweight, which could be optimally located in the car. The ideal candidate was the "heart" of Honda.

Now the drifter continues to improve his car, since only 8 months have passed from the beginning of construction to the first departure, and so far it has not been possible to cure all the «childhood diseases» characteristic of the new technology. But with each trip, the 750-horsepower drift car drives more and more confidently, so the moment is not far off when the car will become even more powerful (target 800-850 hp) and more reliable and will be able to fully show what an unusual Toyota tandem is capable of. and Honda.
