The new Land Rover Defender received a Trophy version
In memory of the legendary Camel Trophy competitions that took place around the world and glorified Land Rover cars, the North American division of the British brand decided to make a limited version of the modern Land Rover Defender in honor of the glorious adventures of yesteryear.
The Trophy Edition followed the 5-door Defender 110 with a short, 3-door version of the Defender 90. And these SUVs will be able to take part in special competitions. The production car in the P400 X-Dynamic SE configuration was taken as the basis and the novelty has no technical differences - a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder gasoline engine with a capacity of 400 horsepower and 500 Nm is installed under the hood. The engine is mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, two-speed transfer case and all-wheel drive.
The basic package of the Defender Trophy Edition includes air suspension, off-road and climate packages, the Pivi Pro multimedia system with an 11.4-inch touch screen, available for other versions for a surcharge.
A feature of the new version is additional bumper protection, an expeditionary roof rack with a folding ladder, preparation for installing a winch, mudguards, a built-in air compressor, rubber floor mats in the cabin and trunk. Visually, the Defender Trophy Edition is distinguished by a yellow and black body color, extended black decor and numerous special version logos.
The new version will cost customers a minimum of 95 thousand dollars, and sales of the new modification will start in August. A total of 250 off-road vehicles will be made (220 for the US and 30 for Canada), whose owners will be able to take part in the one-day off-road adventure Defender Trophy Competition. The winning crew will travel to the UK for the Classic Land Rover Trophy Competition in 2023.
